Harrison County's Road and Bridge Department reported storm-related cleanup and presented multiple routine road and land items that the Commissioners Court approved on March 11.
Road and Bridge Superintendent Luke (presented as Luke/Luke Davis in the record) told the court crews worked day and night after a weather event on March 4, reopening flooded roads and patching damage. "Finally got everything open. All the flooded roads, patched back up and passable," he said.
The court then approved a slate of utility applications reviewed by the department. The permits cover water, gas and fiber installations across multiple county roads and precincts, including applications from Gum Springs Water Supply on Wanda Lane (CR 3621), Boa d'Arc Midstream LLC on Moxley Grocery Road (CR 2401) and several fiber permits from Spectrum Gulf Coast on roads including Airlite Road (CR 40311), Latta Road (CR 20705), Walker Mill Road (CR 30705) and others. Luke told the court the requests met county utility-application specifications.
The court also issued Private Road Issuance Order No. 87 for Private Road No. 4446, a drive off FM 2879 approximately 2,900 feet south of the Ramsey Road intersection in Precinct 4. The request, made through the East Texas Council of Governments, qualified because more than five residents live on the road, allowing the county to assign a private road number for emergency and 911 purposes.
Commissioners approved the final plat for Southern Pines Addition Phase 2, a subdivision off Farmer Market Road 2208 in Precinct 4. County staff said the phase adds one lot to the existing development and meets subdivision specifications; the item had previously been presented as a preliminary plat.
Ending: All road, utility and plat actions were approved unanimously, and staff will continue typical maintenance and follow-up inspections as required.
