Community service officer Amber Loring, a certified child passenger safety technician, described the work: technicians will inspect installed seats, check manufacturer recall notices online, walk owners through the vehicle and car‑seat manuals, and — when needed — install a seat properly and then have the owner re‑install it to confirm they can do so.
"I did not realize the importance of [proper installation] until I myself learned that I did not install my own car seat correctly," Amber Loring said on the broadcast, explaining why the inspections include hands‑on coaching.
