Marianas Business Network thanks delegation for startup funding, outlines plans for workshops and training

Travis Jones, representing the Marianas Business Network, thanked the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation for approving funding that the organization says will help it scale services to local small businesses.
"This support comes at a critical time for MBN," Jones said, adding that the network had operated on volunteer effort and self-funding until now. He said the organization's president, PK Daigo, was off-island but shared appreciation for the appropriation.
Jones described free workshops, networking events and town halls the organization has run since June of the previous year. He said delegation funding would allow MBN to expand training in digital marketing and financial management, retain consultants for specialized support in areas such as export compliance and e-commerce, and maintain the group's physical and digital infrastructure.
No legislative vote or formal appropriation text was presented in the public-comments portion; Jones's remarks were made during the session's public-comment period.
