The Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to adopt new instructional materials for geometry, Algebra II and CTE courses and to certify the district's TEKS verification for 2025–26.
Lancaster Independent School District trustees unanimously approved the district's 2025'26 instructional materials adoption, selecting vendors for geometry, Algebra II and several career and technical education (CTE) courses, and separately certified the TEKS Verification Document used to confirm alignment of materials with state standards.
The board voted on the instructional materials adoption during its March 27 meeting after a presentation by district staff who described the annual instructional materials and technology allotment (IMTA) process and stakeholder review. The vote carried unanimously.
District staff said the board is being asked to adopt Agile Minds for geometry and Algebra II. For CTE courses staff recommended Goodheart-Willcox for commercial photography and video game design, and Curriculum Associates (listed in materials as "curriculum center") for family and consumer sciences and selected instructional-practice resources. Miss Bell, the district presenter for instructional materials, described the selection process as following the district's adoption cycle and stakeholder engagement used in prior curriculum adoptions.
In a separate but related action the board approved Lancaster ISD's Certification of Provision of Instructional Material Survey (TEKS Verification Document) for the 2025'26 school year. Miss Bell told trustees the document certifies the district has provided guaranteed viable curriculum and instructional materials to staff and students and will be signed that night.
During the discussion trustees asked no substantive follow-up questions before moving to vote. The board clerk reported votes were collected electronically and, where necessary, verbally; the clerk announced the actions carried unanimously.
The district referenced House Bill 1605 during the presentation as background on the IMTA funding and requirements for instructional materials, and staff said the adoption followed the district's stakeholder review process developed during prior bond- and curriculum-related cycles.
Trustees did not introduce amendments to the adoption tonight; staff said the materials will be implemented by campus instructional teams according to district procedures.
