Charlottesville moves Walker pre‑K design forward by one year in CIP schedule

Staff also noted modest increases to the lump‑sum school priority improvements program to keep pace with inflation and to support modernization work, including security measures that align with recent facility security audit recommendations (rekey projects and door replacements at high‑priority buildings are funded through the schools lump sum in FY26). Councilors supported the schedule shift and asked staff to provide additional delivery timelines and anticipated savings from the earlier design schedule.
