Council continues public hearing on St. Luke’s/McCall Memorial development agreement to April 10

Meredith Todd, the city’s sustainability and planning staffer, told the council staff and legal counsel are still resolving document language after the council’s extensive deliberations at the prior meeting. “For the purpose of tonight, we would ask you to continue the open public hearing to the date specific of 04/10/2025, so that staff can work with the applicant legal counsel on getting those documents reviewed for your final touch and blessing on that date,” Todd said.
Todd also noted no one had signed up to provide formal virtual testimony; a small number of people were in the council chamber but none asked to speak. Council members moved and seconded a motion to continue the hearing; a voice vote carried and the public hearing was kept open and continued to the April 10, 2025 meeting.
Why it matters: the development agreement governs how the hospital district and St. Luke’s will develop the site and likely contains conditions, phasing and infrastructure commitments. Council members had previously asked staff and counsel for changes; the extra time is to ensure the written findings, conclusions and the agreement reflect that direction before final approval.
