The Pleasant Grove Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a preliminary subdivision amendment for Blossom Hill Plat A, proposed by Russell Wilson of Symphony Homes.
Planning staff explained the amendment reduces the previously recorded plat from five lots to four lots and widens the remaining parcels. The site is in an R1‑9 single‑family residential zone; minimum lot size in that zone is 9,000 square feet and minimum lot width is 85 feet. Staff said the revised lots continue to meet those zoning standards. One example cited by staff: a lot under review increases to approximately 13,000 square feet from about 12,500 square feet under the prior configuration.
Russell Wilson, speaking for Symphony Homes, said market interest had shown buyers prefer larger, wider lots and the applicant chose to eliminate one narrow lot and enlarge the remaining lots. No members of the public spoke during the hearing.
Commissioner Fugal moved to forward a positive recommendation of approval for the amended preliminary subdivision plat, adopting staff exhibits, conditions and findings and requiring final planning, engineering and fire department approvals; Commissioner Butler seconded. The motion carried.
