The Nassau County School Board approved the recommendation to hire Dr. Johnny Trey Robertson as the district’s facilities maintenance/facilities director.
Dr. Burns, superintendent, presented Robertson’s resume and highlighted his prior service as deputy superintendent and assistant superintendent in Bryan County Schools, where he led operations and had experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and large-scale school construction projects. Burns said Robertson had served previously as an elementary and a high school principal and “has a deep understanding of instruction, leadership, and school improvement.”
Board members raised no substantive objections during the discussion. Burns asked that Ms. Morris have time to work with Robertson during the transition because Morris has led the department this year, and Burns said Robertson is already spending time with her. Burns said Robertson “will be starting on May” (exact start date not specified). A motion to approve the recommendation was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members thanked Ms. Morris for filling the role on an interim basis. The meeting record shows the board approved the hire as part of the action items on the agenda; no vote tallies by count or recorded individual votes were entered in the transcript.
