Dan Brown, a member of the Kosciusko County Redevelopment Commission, provided an update on the Webster bike path project, saying the county has received the contractor’s first invoice and held a virtual coordination meeting with the contractor and project managers.
"We got the first bill from the people doing the work for us," Brown said, adding that he met virtually with two representatives from the contractor and two local project contacts. He said the next step is to pay that invoice so work can begin, but that the contractor has given varying estimates for the start date.
Commission members asked when work could be expected and Brown replied the schedule was still "floating" because the contractor had given different times. He said the project is still moving forward and that staff expects it to proceed once administrative steps are completed.
No formal decisions or new funding authorizations for the bike path were recorded at the meeting; Brown indicated project administration and payment of the invoice were the immediate next steps.
