Megan Wallace, who attended the hearing, described her background in public finance and administration, noting prior service on the Treasury Oversight Committee representing the San Francisco Unified School District from 2019 to 2022 and more than 17 years in public service across city agencies. Wallace said she currently serves as interim deputy director of finance and administration at the Port of San Francisco and outlined previous roles in the mayor’s office, the Port and SFUSD.
“Throughout my career, I've remained committed to responsible financial management and ensuring public resources are effectively allocated to advance the mission of the organizations that I serve,” Wallace said during her remarks.
There were no public speakers on the item. Committee members moved to amend the draft to delete the word “objecting” where it appeared in the legislation and to recommend the nomination to the full Board as amended. The motion to amend and send the nomination to the full Board with a positive recommendation passed without objection (recorded votes: Member Mandelmann, aye; Chair Cheryl, aye; Walton excused).
The nomination will now be considered by the full Board for final appointment.
