Council member Dave Walker told the Perry City Council the Mountain View Bike Park grant application received positive preliminary feedback from the state recreation review and that the city has gathered substantial informal community support ahead of the formal submission.
Walker said staff are making small edits requested by reviewers and expected to submit the application by the early deadline within days. He also circulated a short online form to gauge community support and reported receiving 391 signatures in a few days: roughly one-third from Perry City residents, one-third from nearby cities such as Willard and Brigham City, and the remainder from other areas.
"We got 391 signatures of support for the bike park," Walker said. He described the state division’s initial review as “very positive” and said the requested fixes were minor and being addressed.
Walker said the updated application and clear demonstration of local support will be part of the packet the city sends to the recreation division. No formal council action was recorded on the item at this meeting.
