Hurricane City Council unanimously approved Resolution 2025-18 on March 20 to vacate and abandon a sewer-line easement located within the Sky Rim development.
Staff explained the easement had been previously granted to both Ash Creek Special Service District and Hurricane City; Ash Creek has initiated abandonment of its interest and requested the city abandon its interest as part of a planned reconfiguration. The sewer infrastructure is to be relocated into a public street within a recorded subdivision, and the county- and developer-led plan will place the sewer line in a recorded public-road corridor rather than across lots intended for housing.
Councilman Preet moved to approve Resolution 2025-18; Councilman Hershey seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Staff and council noted the action does not remove public utility infrastructure but shifts the recorded easement location consistent with the developer's subdivision plan.
