The Community Multicultural Commission reviewed clothing and visibility‑gear options April 17 and asked staff to obtain prices for polos, windbreakers, jackets and safety vests for use at parades and outdoor events.
Courtney, a city staff member, said she will circulate a sample photo and request members— sizes by email and then return pricing. "If you'll just let me know what we need to price out, we can we can work on that," she said. Commissioners discussed ordering a limited number of windbreakers or safety vests (several suggested four to six each) rather than ordering for every member, and considered a policy question about using the city logo on personal purchases.
Staff said they would research whether committee members may use the city logo on privately purchased apparel or whether city policy restricts logo use to city‑funded items. Commissioners also discussed logistics for storing and swapping shared items for events such as parades and Christmas on the Square.
No expenditure decision was made; staff will return pricing and a recommendation at a future meeting, and will send an email requesting shirt sizes for members who want polos.
