The Cherokee Nation Tribal Council approved a revised resolution confirming the reappointment of Cheryl Rountree to the Cherokee Nation Sequoia High School Board of Education during its Feb. 27 meeting.
Council member Candessa Teehee asked that a revised resolution be submitted to confirm Rountree’s reappointment and moved the action. The motion received a second and passed by voice vote.
Rountree, who said she has 36 years’ experience in education including work as a teacher, counselor and superintendent, addressed the council and described her long record of service and support for local students and schools. She told the council she supports continued academic and extracurricular improvements at Sequoia High School and expressed appreciation for funding from the Chief to support students.
