Town to bring resolution accepting low bid of $35,000 for library siding to regular council meeting

Town staff told the Signal Mountain Town Council on March 24 that the town received two bids for siding work at the Signal Mountain Library following a public bid opening. The bids came from Ross Services Corp. and Abbott Enterprises; Abbott Enterprises submitted the lower bid of $35,000.
Town Manager Matt said the town had previously considered siding work for both town hall and the library but pulled town hall from this phase while staff conduct a more in-depth condition study. "It has been the wish of the public works director and myself that we accept this bid," Matt said, and asked that staff place the item as a resolution on the next regular meeting agenda for formal council action.
Council members indicated support for moving the matter to the regular session for a vote. No final vote was recorded at the work session; staff said they will present a formal resolution at the upcoming regular council meeting.
