DDA staff told the board March 27 that Anderson Lawn Care has begun weekly maintenance of Downtown Development Authority lots and that the contract runs through the current fiscal cycle with automatic annual renewal unless 30 days' written notice is given.
Fountain and feature-planting are on a separate contract with Duncan's Landscaping; staff said pine straw, herbicide and pre-emergent have already been applied and that floral planting on the Forest Park letters on College Street should appear within two to three weeks.
Staff said they will begin a rebid and renewal process for the general lot-maintenance contract in May–June to ensure competitiveness. The board was reminded the list provided covers only DDA properties; fountain planting and other ornamental work are covered under separate agreements.
Separately, the Main Street program announced its 2025 event calendar, including Food Truck Friday partnerships, a "longest table" community dinner and a second annual wine festival planned for Friday, April 25. The Main Street office also presented a new Main Street logo and broader economic-development branding intended for tents, cups, hats and ambassador uniforms; staff asked the board to adopt the logo so the office could move forward with branded materials and an ambassador program.
Staff updates included a brief report on E Street renovations: vendor contracts have been awarded for a rear deck, trimming a large backyard tree and installing a privacy fence; requisitions are submitted and purchase orders are pending and expected within about 7–10 days, after which contractors will begin work. Interior furniture procurement for the E Street property is also underway and staff said POs would be circulated to finalize the interior build-out.
Board members asked clarifying questions about which properties each contract covers and expressed general support for the events calendar and new branding. Staff said hard copies of the new logos and marketing materials are available for board review.
