Assemblymember Alanis presented AB 312, which would shorten the holding period for recovered agricultural property from six months to three months to expedite return to owners and reduce administrative burdens. "With the rise of digital tools such as social media and online bulletins, commodity owners can locate their property much quicker," Alanis said, urging the committee to approve the change.
No opposition or extended public comment was recorded during the hearing and committee members praised the measure as practical for farmers. The committee voted to pass the bill. The roll call recorded ayes from Soria, Alanis, Aguiar-Curry, Connolly and Ransom (clerk announced the bill had the votes to proceed).
