During the March 24 deliberative meeting, the solicitor read a slate of resolutions planned for the council—s Wednesday meeting that included local traffic and administrative items.
Resolutions listed on the agenda included: installing handicapped-parking zones at multiple blocks across the city (Resolution 35); several road-opening permit packages for gas-service work (Resolutions 36—through 39, discussed separately); applying for county liquid-fuel tax funds for resurfacing (Resolutions 40 and 41); installing an honorary street sign renaming a portion of Penn Street as James N. Harper Sr. Way (Resolution 42); and final approval for the Alliance 436 Highland LLC Stage 2 land-development plan (Resolution 43). The solicitor also read Resolution 44 (noted in the meeting transcript numbering correction) and mentioned Resolution 45, the award for management of Memorial Park Pool. The solicitor said the scoring review committee was not ready to recommend an award for pool management and that staff planned to pull Resolution 45 for the Wednesday meeting so council could consider it after additional information was obtained.
The agenda concluded with Resolution 46, authorizing Santander Bank to be the depository for two accounts; council staff said this step is part of ongoing refinements to the city—s banking arrangements and consolidation of certain special funds.
Councilors asked a few clarifying questions about the numbering and about whether the bank appointments were consistent with earlier actions; staff confirmed Santander was already named in a related resolution passed earlier and that this resolution continues that process. For the pool-management award, staff said they may hold a special meeting if needed to open the pool sooner but that additional documentation is required before awarding a contract.
