Vendor demonstrates countywide mobile app; commissioners say bring proposal to budget process

Tyler May of govapp.com said the platform can consolidate services such as agendas and minutes, emergency notifications, inmate rosters, bill payment, custom forms and GIS mapping into one mobile app. He highlighted a VineLink integration for inmate rosters and a push-notification system that can target geographic areas. May said the company supports victim notifications and can integrate IPAWS and other alerting systems.
May gave preliminary pricing to the commission: "year one to build this app... would be just under $15,000 for year one," and annual maintenance of about $7,990. He said some services, such as the VineLink inmate‑roster feed, are billed as pass-through fees from the vendor that manages that data.
Commissioners asked about security for payments and how departmental content would be managed. May said the app would be a mobile-friendly pass-through to whatever payment vendor the county already uses and that departmental pages and custom forms could be added. He and his colleague Jay Becker described outreach and marketing support the vendor provides to drive downloads.
County staff and commissioners generally signaled interest in exploring the proposal. The mayor and other commissioners recommended moving the proposal through the budget process so the recurring maintenance cost could be considered during budget deliberations.
