The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors accepted a resignation and appointed a replacement to the Community Development Advisory Committee on March 26.
Supervisor Debbie Lesko moved to accept the resignation of Sharman Hickman and to appoint Keith Fort to the vacancy. Lesko said the panel oversees pass-through federal block grant funds and that Fort, who lives in El Mirage, is an appropriate replacement. “Keith also is a 21-year Air Force veteran that also worked as my district director when I was in Congress… I know he is very competent and will take this job seriously,” Lesko said.
The board seconded the motion and approved the appointment by voice vote. Lesko thanked Hickman for her years of unpaid service and welcomed Fort. The appointment is to a citizen advisory board that helps allocate and advise on federal community development funds in the county.
