Board approves $1.2M addition to janitorial contract for final option year

The Capital Metro Board on March 24 approved a $1,200,000 increase to the existing Simply Clean LLC janitorial services contract to fund the final option year, bringing the contract’s new not-to-exceed total to $6,030,001.
Andy Skowalski, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, said the agency has expanded stations and amenities over the contract term, increasing janitorial workload. "Based on growth of the system we've utilized a lot of the services and we need to add $1,200,000 into the last year to make it into that last final option year," Skowalski said. He noted the contract includes a 12% SBE participation goal.
Board members asked clarifying questions about growth in station amenities and the use of funds; staff said the increase reflects additional trash receptacles and amenities added during the contract.
