Weber County outlines corridor preservation program and tentative solicitation timeline

A Weber County representative briefed the Ogden‑Layton TAC on March 26 about the county’s corridor preservation program, which is funded by a county sales tax and has been in place since 2007.
The presenter said the county had recently improved outreach by launching a web page with program guidelines, a project gallery, maps and a project‑timeline graphic. Pending approval of the timeline by the Weber Area Council of Governments, the county expects letters of intent to open in early May, with full applications due July 14 and subsequent field reviews, subcommittee evaluations and a final priority list taken to the county commission before year‑end.
The presenter encouraged prospective applicants to contact Weber County staff for eligibility questions and said the program manual contains detailed policies, eligibility and matching requirements. He emphasized the program’s similarity to Davis County’s corridor funding and noted county staff can advise on project timing and match strategies.
"If you just go to the Weber County web page, we have a drop down under departments, and it says transportation funds," the presenter said when asked where applicants should look for information.
The committee had no substantive objections and moved on to TIP business after the presentation.
