Sumner board approves meeting agenda, consent items and adopts four district policies

At its March 19 meeting the Sumner School District Board approved the meeting agenda and consent agenda and adopted four policies on second reading: 2022 (electronic resources/internet safety), 2023 (digital citizenship and media literacy), 5400 (personnel leaves) and 6501 (data privacy).
The Sumner School District Board of Directors approved the meeting agenda and consent agenda and adopted four district policies at its March 19 meeting.
The administration recommended that the board approve the March 19, 2025 meeting agenda; a motion was made and the board approved the agenda by voice vote. The board then approved the consent agenda, which included personnel items (the president noted new bus driver hires) and other routine items.
Later in the meeting the district presented a second reading of multiple policies and the administration recommended adoption in accordance with Policy 1310 (adoption/amendment of policies and bylaws). The policies adopted on second reading were: Policy 2022 (electronic resources/internet safety), Policy 2023 (digital citizenship and media literacy), Policy 5400 (personnel leaves) and Policy 6501 (data privacy). A motion to adopt the listed policies was moved and seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote.
The board received a child nutrition written report for information only and was provided the January financial report and an updated 2025–26 budget calendar in the packet. No additional formal actions were recorded for those informational items.
