Tiburon Heritage and Arts Commission approves gallery scheduling change, Indigenous exhibit, Earth Day participation and exhibition procedures

TIBURON, Calif. — At its March 25 meeting, the Tiburon Town Heritage and Arts Commission approved a set of actions to manage gallery programming, support a contemporary indigenous-art show and participate in an Earth Day community event.

The commission approved five formal items: a revised lower-gallery schedule to allow Landmarks to begin its annual show in December; acceptance of a contemporary indigenous-art exhibit for the lower gallery and approval of a related larger-scale educational event in collaboration with the town’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force; authorization to participate in Tiburon’s Earth Day activities and a budget not to exceed $1,000 for related materials and programming; a motion to contact and assess availability of three artists for the September–October upper-gallery slot; and adoption of an updated artist information form to standardize exhibition submissions and logistics.

Landmarks scheduling The commission voted to permit the Tiburon Landmarks group to shift its lower-gallery slot so its annual show can begin in early December.
