Simmons said the proposal would raise the motor fuel tax by a total of nine cents over three years (about three cents per year) and include an indexing mechanism. "We could see as much as $200,000,000 or pretty close to it coming to us annually," Simmons said, describing the funding as a major expansion of the department's capacity.
