Residents question new stone markers and landscaping plans at Peachtree Corners entrances

Several residents asked council about new stone “tower” monuments and related landscaping work at Peachtree Corners gateways and corners during the public‑comment period.
William Monet, who said he lives in Wickershire subdivision, said trees were cleared at the triangular site at Peachtree Parkway and East Jones Bridge Road and stone towers had been erected. "To me, they're just a waste of money," Monet said, asking how many of the monuments are planned and how much the project will cost. He asked for an explanation of the project's purpose and scope.
Wesley Reed said he liked the monuments' appearance but asked that the city complete the nearby stormwater pond area and clear undergrowth so the work would look finished. Council asked Mr. Monet and other residents to follow up with City Manager Brian Johnson for more information; the mayor invited residents to contact the city manager for a more detailed response.
City Manager Brian Johnson acknowledged the project is ongoing and staff said the project is not finished; staff urged residents to discuss specifics with him so staff can provide timeline, costs and design details at a later time.
