Administrators said the changes should not delay the project’s schedule and are designed to keep the overall program within available bond funds.
Notice of completion and shade structure: Trustees accepted and filed a notice of completion for a new playground shade structure at Horace Mann installed by TLS Choice, LLC and authorized release of retention for that contract after sign‑offs from the inspector of record and district staff.
Other emergency repairs and purchase orders: The board ratified purchase orders that included emergency swim‑motor repairs and structural repairs to an overhang that had been struck by a delivery truck. Facilities staff explained that water damage to a motor led crews to disassemble it and discover worn bearings unrelated to the water event; the district chose to have the bearings replaced rather than risk future failure. Separately, Garza Construction performed urgent repairs to an overhang damaged by a supplier truck; the district will pursue subrogation through its insurer to recover the cost.
Gates and summer projects: Facilities staff told the board a gate at Horace Mann had been installed and would be activated soon; staff also said they will bring a consolidated summer-project list for board review that may include gates, playground updates and other site maintenance.
