CEO Greg Hill presented highlights from the systemwide report, recognized staff and announced two employer/organizational certifications during the board meeting.
Hill reported daily averages for February—13,360 items circulated on an average day (up from 12,341 in January); an average of 228 new cardholders per day; 27 programs on an average day with 571 attendees; and 6,636 average daily visitors. He named high-performing branches for circulation and visits and noted program and attendance increases compared with the previous month.
Hill also recognized staff with monthly awards and presented CEO coin recognitions for Central staff who had presented earlier in the meeting. He previewed upcoming events such as the Pike grand opening and Del Nino / Be My Neighbor Day on April 26.
On workforce and wellness initiatives, Hill said the Indianapolis Public Library earned EmployIndy’s Good Wage certification (companies committed to $18/hour and access to health benefits) and received the 2025 Gold Bell Seal for workplace mental health from Mental Health America. He summarized wellness benefits reporting 700 hours used of wellness days in 2024 and described the expanded paid medical/parental/disability leave (PMPD). Hill also noted the relocation and expansion of the social work office to Central and that a social work manager had been hired.
Hill said the system will continue leadership outreach with executive team liaison visits to branches, quarterly town halls and internal communications improvements to support staff engagement.
