Presenters named foundation board officers in the meeting: Anna Jimenez (vice president of programs), Brenda Woods (vice president of finance and governance) and Beverly Cage (vice president of marketing). Foundation and district staff invited the student recipients to the dais to accept checks.
Board response: Trustees thanked the foundation and alumni donors for reviving support and noted the grants benefit students who otherwise might not have travel funds. "Thank you so much to the Education Foundation. We really appreciate your support of our district and our students," Trustee Vela said during board comments. Several trustees praised the foundation for raising money after years of inactivity and for directing funds to student opportunities.
