Rick, a city official, told the council the furniture purchase is the second FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) item brought forward for the new lodge; earlier approvals covered the audiovisual system. The request covers tables, chairs and office furniture for indoor spaces, with future approvals expected for outdoor furniture and kitchen equipment.
Rick said staff had convened a selection group including event staff and city personnel to pick the furniture and that the estimated eight-week lead time aligned with project schedules. He said the city had previously estimated roughly $300,000 total for lodge FF&E during the CMAR process and that the purchases were tracking to that estimate.
A motion to authorize purchase of tables, chairs, and office furniture from Galaxy Business Equipment Incorporated, Winfield, Kansas, in the amount of $71,630.12 passed 6-0.
