Saline County Planning and Zoning Commission members elected Sean Alvarez as chair and named Kathleen vice chair during their March 25 meeting, approving one-year terms by unanimous voice vote.
The reorganization followed the outgoing chair’s announcement that he had served two terms and would step down. Commissioners nominated Alvarez from the floor; the nomination was seconded and approved without objection. Likewise, Kathleen was nominated and confirmed as vice chair by unanimous voice vote.
Commissioners did not place additional conditions on the appointments during the meeting. The commission will operate under the new leadership for one-year terms, after which officers may be reappointed or replaced according to the commission’s standard reorganization practices.
The leadership changes occurred early in the agenda as the body moved through routine business, including approval of the night’s agenda and past minutes.
No public comment was recorded on the leadership nominations.
