Main Street director outlines Pryor downtown streetscape timeline, paver sales

The Main Street director gave the council a status update on the downtown Streetscape project, telling councilors the city completed a final site review with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and expects to submit 100% construction plans by the end of the month.
If approvals proceed as planned, the director said the project will go out for bid in about three to four months and — barring further delays — construction could begin roughly six to eight months from now.
Current plans include archway monument signs spanning North and South Adair, pedestrian signal lights for improved walkability and safety, curb bump-outs at key intersections (including the Grama and Adair intersection), updated vehicular signal lights meeting current standards, and general beautification intended to improve downtown market access.
The director also said Main Street is selling a small number of brick pavers for $150 each as a fundraising element to commemorate donors; four pavers remained available at the time of the meeting. Residents can purchase pavers through the Prior Main Street website, mainstreetprior.org, or obtain a paper order form from the director.
The director said bidding will be coordinated among Main Street, consulting firm Kimley-Horn, and ODOT.
