Boerne city staff gave a progress update on the Adler Road bond project on March 25, reporting that culvert designs are complete, property acquisition for the culverts is nearly finished and broader roadway design work is underway.
Director Jeff Carroll said the design phase began after the 2022 bond measure and that surveying required right‑of‑entry letters from 24 landowners. He told the council the culvert designs are 100% complete and three of the four properties needed for that work have been acquired; staff is working on the remaining parcel.
Carroll described the overall roadway project as converting most of the corridor from a two‑lane pavement into a three‑lane section with a continuous two‑way left‑turn lane, adding a five‑foot sidewalk on the south side and a 10‑foot sidewalk on the north side, installing curbs and making significant storm‑drain improvements. The city expects to receive a 60% design submittal from the consultant in the summer and is planning to begin construction in 2026.
