Councilmember Sheridan, the city’s RTA representative, said there had been no RTA meeting since the last council meeting but noted an RTA meeting scheduled in Menifee and a board meeting in Riverside. Sheridan reported attending a March 12 ribbon cutting for Omeo, a company that produces electric autonomous shuttles; Sheridan said RTA is working with Omeo on three zero-emission shuttles to be used in Riverside and that invitations were extended for Omeo to visit Lake Elsinore.
Councilmember Johnson reported joint coordination with Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District and said the lake elevation was at 1,246 feet, which she described as “very healthy.” She said the district is celebrating 75 years and that a septic-to-sewer grant project for Sedco Hills and Avenue Streets will transition septic users to sewer service at no cost to residents; the project will take approximately 48 months once started. Johnson also announced that LaunchPoint campground won a 2025 Campspot Award as a top unique campground for a second consecutive year.
Other council updates included announcements about the Lake Elsinore Storm baseball season opening (first pitch April 8), the Storm’s Sip and Swing event April 5–6, and a town hall in Tuscany Hills on April 10 focused on fire safety, with Division Chief Dustin Reed and Battalion Chief Cody Wright expected to attend. Council members also noted recent and planned fish stockings, reporting no detectable toxic algae as of the 19th and that nano-bubbler mitigation measures are working.
Council staff and members reminded residents about mosquito season and advised property owners to clear standing water after rains. A street grinding and overlay project in the Serenity community was announced with operational scheduling and parking restrictions to follow.
