BCDC and council launch SWOT review and survey to prioritize projects; timeline set for April–June

During the joint session on March 25, staff and the EDC subcommittee reviewed results from a recent SWOT analysis and asked directors and council members to provide individual rankings on candidate projects.
Carly (staff member) summarized the subcommittee’s email-based SWOT input and President Haidt reviewed high-level themes. Staff emphasized that this stage is information gathering: directors will receive the SWOT package and a QR-linked packet with project descriptions and photos, and will be asked to mark each candidate as high, medium or low priority and leave comments. President Haidt said the subcommittee’s notes will be combined with broader council feedback and used to produce a draft strategic plan.
Several directors asked for more comparative context before ranking (for example, how Bee Cave’s revenue and tax rates compare with similar cities) and staff acknowledged the compressed timeline due to the budget calendar. Staff committed to compile the survey responses, produce a consolidated summary and return to the EDC and council for further discussion and prioritization in April and May with the goal of final adoption by June.
No formal decisions were made at the workshop; the exercise is intended to collect informed preferences ahead of more detailed engineering, cost verification and formal policy proposals.
