The Wagoner County Board of Commissioners took multiple actions Monday related to county facility projects, approving a $57,500 change related to "Area P" of the roof project and accepting a consultant invoice for construction-phase services.
A contractor representative, identifying himself as Tyler of Excel, told commissioners he could complete punch-list items quickly if given approval to proceed. Commissioners then voted to approve $57,500 for Area P work, with a motion that added courthouse renovation funding to the approval; the measure passed by roll call.
The board also considered a roof consultant invoice (construction-phase services) for $8,009.10 and approved payment. Separately, a contractor payment application for Mid-Continental Restoration Company previously submitted was identified as a duplicate and was not acted on.
Commissioners discussed ongoing waterproofing work; Herb Olsen of Nissan Construction reported progress coating the courthouse exterior and plans to use an 85-foot lift to reach higher elevations. The board tabled some related items where additional written documentation or clarification was needed. Discussion also covered a proposal for additional parking behind the courthouse, including estimates that suggested gravel tonnage could be much higher than initially thought; the parking item was tabled for further information.
Why it matters: The actions commit funds to courthouse maintenance and affect ongoing warranty and waterproofing work. Commissioners emphasized the need for written change orders, clear documentation and coordination with maintenance staff before approving further draws.
What’s next: Commissioners directed staff to obtain written documentation on change orders and to return with clarified bids and permitting information on parking and any outstanding draw requests.
