The clerk said HR would forward the updated policy language to county legal counsel; staff proposed placing the policy ratification on the business meeting agenda for formal adoption if legal approves. Commissioners said they were comfortable trying the revised process but asked that any implementation issues be reported back so the policy can be adjusted if necessary.
No formal vote was taken; staff will request legal review and bring the item back for ratification at the business meeting if counsel approves.
