Perryton ISD reports construction progress; some new classrooms already in use

District leaders told the Perryton Independent School District Board of Trustees that construction on campus facilities is continuing and several updated classrooms are already in use.
The superintendent reported teachers have moved into new classrooms at Ryde and that staff and parents have given positive feedback about the updated learning environments, including additional electrical outlets. "We are already beginning to use the updated areas, and they're proving to be very good for our teachers and for our kids," the superintendent said in the meeting.
Separately, administrators met with the school art board to discuss artwork currently hanging in Perryton High School and the district’s plans to create display areas and storage during construction. The superintendent said the art board was comfortable with the plan for displaying and storing art while construction continues.
No formal action or vote was taken on construction contracts or change orders during the public portion of the meeting; updates were presented as informational reports.
