Beaver City Council agrees to round fees, directs staff to draft resolution and approve veteran discount

Beaver City Council on March 24 agreed to round several items in the city fee schedule, asked staff to draft a resolution formalizing the changes and approved a $50 discount on golf season passes for veterans.

Council members said the intent is to make fee amounts easier to understand and to formalize any changes by resolution. City staff and council discussed whether a second public hearing would be required; councilors said a public hearing is required for water impact fees but that most fee rounding can be handled by resolution. Council asked Justin (staff) to draft the resolution and to advise whether an additional public hearing is necessary.

Council members also approved a proposal to offer veterans a $50 discount on the golf season pass. Councilors discussed whether the discount should also apply to active-duty military, first responders or teachers; they asked staff to return data on how many such passes were used last year and whether a different discount or eligibility should apply. Council members agreed a resolution would be needed to finalize the discount.
