Harold Kelly, the airport manager, told Allegany County Commissioners the airport is seeking the same county contribution as last year: $230,000.
Kelly said that amount is unchanged because it was the agreed-upon figure in the compact between Maryland and West Virginia governing the airport authority. He added that the airport’s operating costs have increased because of higher fuel and utility costs, losses of some rentals and modest employee pay increases.
Kelly did not request an increase in the county contribution and gave the commissioners an overview of the airport’s budget drivers. Commissioners asked no substantive questions and did not vote during the presentation.
