When a commissioner asked whether trimming the county’s portion would allow the commission to absorb the change, the commission representative said that the way the intergovernmental agreement is written means any reduction in the county’s contribution would require corresponding cuts across other contributors and budget items.
No formal action or vote was taken during the presentation. Commissioners asked a few questions and did not immediately object to the request; the representative said there was little discretionary room in the commission’s administrative budget.
