Senator Wiggins raised a point of order, saying the matter was not a proper use of “point of personal privilege” and characterized Chisholm’s remarks as a speech about immigration rather than a personal-privilege matter. Chisholm said the Mississippi attorney general’s office has entered a 287(g) agreement and urged colleagues to cosponsor because, she said, the problem is present in Mississippi.
