Ada County approves batches of alcohol licenses as clerk prepares software transition

Ada County commissioners approved 12 catering permits, one new alcohol license and 87 license renewals during the March 25 meeting.
The clerk’s office reported it works with about 1,000 alcohol license holders countywide and had processed roughly 500 renewals at the time of the meeting. Staff said they aim to complete as many renewals as possible before transitioning from the current Helion recording system to Tyler Technology on April 7. Tyler Technology staff will be on-site the first week of the new system’s go-live to support the transition, the clerk said.
Commissioners approved the batch of licenses by voice vote after the clerk asked whether there were any questions. The clerk’s office said it was sending strategic communications to license holders about the change and that the transition may present a learning curve for staff and licensees.
No public objections were recorded on the licenses during the meeting.
