Minor and Jester, PC named Denton County Heritage Business

The Denton County Commissioners Court on March 25, 2025 adopted a resolution designating Minor and Jester, PC as a Denton County Heritage Business.
Kelsey, representing the Denton County Office of History and Culture, told the court the county’s heritage business program (started in 2015) recognizes businesses operating 50 years or more; she said Minor and Jester has been in operation about 58 years. Partner Jill Jester and other firm representatives accepted the recognition.
The resolution traces the firm’s local history: Tom Jester joined Fred Minor’s law practice in 1967, and the firm’s services were described in the court record as including business law, bankruptcy, probate, real estate and estate planning. The resolution says current partners carry on a tradition of community service and leadership.
Jill Jester thanked the court and said the honor “means a lot to us” and pledged to continue the firm’s community service and legal work. The resolution was moved by the chair and seconded by Commissioner Edmondson; the motion carried unanimously.
Court members urged recognition of the firm’s longevity and local service amid broader discussion about business closures and the value of long-running local firms.
The resolution will be filed with the Office of History and Culture as part of its heritage-business records.
