Commissioners renew Securitas countywide security contract with 3% escalation, adding $2.59 million

On March 25 the Adams County Board of Commissioners approved Amendment 4 to the countywide security contract with Securitas Security Services USA Inc. The amendment adds $2,592,061.95, bringing the contract total to a not-to-exceed amount of $7,590,758.95 according to staff remarks.
Amir Fakir, director of facilities and fleet management and the project manager for the contract, reviewed the contract history. The original agreement was for $2,482,132. Amendment 1 added animal shelter services at no cost; Amendment 2 was administrative to add overtime hourly rates; Amendment 3 added a 3% contractual escalation and served as a renewal. Amendment 4, presented on March 25, was described as another renewal for 2025 with a 3% escalation and the addition of two guards at the government center.
Commissioner questions focused on the apparent size change across amendments; Jennifer Tierney, a county purchasing agent, explained Amendment 3 was a renewal and included the contractual 3% escalator and any added staffing. Fakir confirmed the contract covers many county facilities, including the animal shelter, the judicial center, human services, the government center and motor vehicle locations.
Commissioner O'Dorisio moved to approve the amendment; the motion was seconded and passed 5–0 on the record.
