Immediately afterward, a committee staff member said staff would consolidate statute changes that had been amended in two different bills: "So when I draft the conference committee report, I'm gonna reconcile those amendments into 1 section."

The committee member who spoke for the group announced consensus, saying, "So, we will accept, all of these conference committee, these bills going into those conference committee reports, the change with, 42 being the base bill on conference committee report 2. So I think, I think we're all in agreement." Another member noted that a ranking member, Senator Francisco, had given permission to continue in her absence.

The discussion combined procedural direction (selecting a base bill and changing an enacting date) with drafting instructions to staff to reconcile overlapping statutory amendments into a single section of the conference committee report.
