Staff reported on recruitment and a new volunteer-hours tracking request for commissioners.
Staff said two applicants interviewed: Daniel Eisman for both the BJAD parking and TDM commissions and Kevin Krause for the TDM commission only. City Council was scheduled to vote on commissioner appointments at the regular council meeting on March 20; staff planned to notify appointees on March 21. Staff said additional vacancies will remain on both commissions and that the clerk’s office would reopen applications and continue outreach.
On volunteer hours, staff said they will email commissioners with instructions and ask commissioners to report time spent on commission-related work outside meetings, such as reviewing meeting packets and meeting with members of the public. Staff said these outside-hours reports will be used for a more accurate annual report of commissioner activity.
No formal appointment was made during the March 19 meeting; council action was required to finalize appointments.
