The Crockett City Council heard police and fire department reports for February 2025 and asked staff to provide more detailed location breakdowns for police calls.
Police reported a total number of calls for the period included in the packet; a staff representative cited 296 calls listed in the report and said more detailed precinct- or street-level breakdowns could be produced but would take time. Council members asked whether the department could show where most calls originate and whether the information should be presented monthly or yearly; staff offered to provide a yearly precinct breakdown and said they could show precinct-level rankings of call volumes.
A council member noted that, if presented by precinct, some locations such as large retail properties can drive high call counts for the precinct that contains them. The council and staff discussed whether the report should show call types (for example, theft, miscellaneous offenses, possession) and which grouping would be most useful.
The fire department reported monthly activity for February: staff said there were 21 responses inside the city and 14 responses in the county for the reported period. Council members thanked police and fire staff for their response to a major incident earlier in the month and for attending community events.
Council requested that the police department return with a precinct-level call breakdown (staff said a yearly summary would be feasible) and further requested that the department clarify which call categories are being tallied in future reports.
