The board discussed that state/local procurement rules limit consecutive years with the same auditor (a staff speaker referenced a three-year limit), and that the board could solicit bids if it wished.
One board member asked staff to request a formal quote and contract from Waycaster; the board also asked staff to obtain a bid from Lancaster. A motion to table the decision until the next meeting so staff could gather the written quotes was made and the board agreed to bring the item back next month.
The board did not finalize an audit contract at the meeting and directed staff to return with written proposals for review.
