Upper Cumberland representative offers local support under Oakwood abatement grant; peer-support worker introduces services

At the council's public comment period, Carrie Bullock identified herself as an Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency representative who will serve as a local point of contact under an Oakwood abatement grant. Bullock said the grant funds can support treatment, detox, coordination with the justice system and referrals to a day-reporting center.
Bullock said she is a CPRS (certified peer-recovery specialist), in recovery 14 years, and will provide peer-support services and referral assistance. She said she lives outside Cumberland County but will be working in the county frequently and offered a contact number; she also distributed business cards and information sheets outlining available funds and services.
Ending Bullock invited residents and council members to contact her about available treatment and referral resources and said she looks forward to working with Cumberland County as the grant is implemented.
